Inspections That Keep Your Systems Ready and Your Records Current

Fire protection equipment can sit unused for years, which is why problems often go unnoticed. A closed valve, a low-pressure extinguisher, or a worn backflow part will not announce itself. Regular inspection and testing is how you find out your systems will work before you need them.

Codes also require it. Building owners are responsible for having their fire protection systems inspected, tested, and maintained on a set schedule, and for keeping records that show it was done. Craig Fire Protection handles that work and the paperwork that goes with it.

We work with building owners, property managers, facility teams, restaurant operators, schools, healthcare facilities, and homeowners. Common reasons people call us include an upcoming inspection deadline, a failed inspection, a recurring compliance requirement, missing records, a system in unknown condition, or a report that needs to reach the local authority.

What We Inspect and Test

We inspect and test each system to the standard that applies to it. Here is what that covers, and how often each system typically needs it. Exact requirements depend on your system, your occupancy, and your local authority.

  • Fire Sprinkler Systems

    • Typically inspected, tested, and maintained each year under NFPA 25, with some components checked more often
    • Sprinkler heads, piping, valves, gauges, risers, alarms, and water-flow components
    • Related components such as backflow preventers and fire pumps, where your system has them
  • Fire Extinguishers

    • Annual professional maintenance under NFPA 10, plus regular visual checks
    • Pressure, condition, tamper seals, accessibility, and service dates
    • Hydrostatic testing at the intervals your extinguisher type requires
  • Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems

    • Inspected and tested under NFPA 17A and NFPA 96, on the schedule that applies to your system
    • Nozzles, fusible links, agent tanks, detection equipment, pull stations, and fuel or power shutoffs
  • Backflow Prevention

    • Annual testing required by many Arizona municipalities
    • Valve performance, pressure levels, and verification that the assembly stops reverse flow
  • Reports and Follow-Up

    • Inspection reports, handled the way your local authority requires
    • A clear list of any deficiencies, with a quote to correct them
    • Repairs and retesting by the same team

What Regular Inspections Do for You

An inspection is more than a tag on the wall. Here is what you get from keeping your systems on schedule.

  • Problems Found Early

Inspections catch worn parts, closed valves, and low pressure before they turn into a failure during a fire.

  • Code Compliance

Staying on schedule helps you meet fire-code, insurance, and local authority requirements.

  • Documentation Ready to Share

Your inspection report gives you a clear record of every inspection.

  • Systems That Stay Operational

Regular testing and maintenance keep your equipment working the way it was designed to.

  • A Direct Path to Repairs

When an inspection finds a deficiency, the same team can quote it, fix it, and test it again.

Fire Protection Inspections Across Arizona

Inspection requirements are not the same everywhere in Arizona. Each city, fire district, and water provider can set its own schedules, report formats, and deadlines. We work with the local authority where your property is located, so your inspection and report meet the requirements that apply to you.

Arizona's climate adds wear. Extreme summer heat in Lake Havasu City and the Colorado River communities is hard on gauges, seals, and equipment in unshaded areas. In higher, colder parts of the state, freezing temperatures put exposed piping and assemblies at risk.

Seasonal properties need attention too. Many buildings around Lake Havasu City see heavy use in one season and sit quiet in another. Their fire protection systems still need to be inspected on schedule, whether or not the building is busy.

Inspection and Testing Service Across Arizona

From our office in Lake Havasu City, we provide fire protection inspections and testing in Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Kingman, Parker, and communities across Arizona.

Fire Protection Inspection FAQs

Is your inspection the same as a fire department inspection?

Not quite. Your local fire authority may inspect your building for code compliance. Separately, building owners are required to have their fire protection systems inspected, tested, and maintained by qualified people. That is the work we do, and we follow your local authority's process for reporting the results.

Who receives the inspection report?

You do. Where your local authority requires inspection results, we follow its process, which differs from one area to the next. Some areas have an electronic submission system and some do not.

What standards do your inspections follow?

We inspect and test each system to the standard that applies to it, including NFPA 25 for sprinkler systems, NFPA 10 for fire extinguishers, and NFPA 17A and NFPA 96 for kitchen hood suppression. Backflow testing follows your local water provider's rules. Local fire authority requirements apply on top of these.

Can one company inspect all of my fire protection systems?

Yes. We inspect and test fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, backflow preventers, and kitchen hood suppression systems, so you can keep all four on one schedule with one provider.

What happens if my system fails an inspection?

Your report lists each deficiency so you know exactly what needs attention. We then give you a quote to correct it. Because we also handle repairs, the same team that found the problem can fix it and test the system again.

How much does a fire protection inspection cost?

Cost depends on the type of system, the size of your property, and the work needed. We do not publish set prices because every property is different. Request a quote or call (928) 453-7185, and we will price the work for your specific property.

How do I schedule an inspection?

Request a quote online or call (928) 453-7185. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For urgent problems outside those hours, call the same number.
